My first computer, an IBM PC-xt, had one of those. I bought an adapter to make it work with PS-2 for later computers. Don't know what happened to it. It was one great kb, my first computer instructor at ITT liked them too. I won't use anything but mechanical KBs these days. I have a few Dell Mechanical PS-2 KBs. I have a USB AVID kb on my DAW PC, sometimes it won't boot or I can't get a response from the keyboard unless I plug a PS2 keyboard in.

this feels sponsored but it's linus so I totally understand that he did this out of nostalgia since it's not listed as a sponsorship

This was a pretty cool video. I learned how to type on one of those Model M boards – very satisfying to type on.

I've collected many of those IBM keyboards for good reason. Some IBM 3 button mice with the rubber ball were my choice over early optical mice.
before 1988, HP had some nice keyboards too. I never liked anything at all with the Lexmark logo. AT&T made some awesome modems called Paradyne, around the same time period that IBM was beginning to "go to crap" if you will… parts of AT&T were being sold off and it's all nearly the same story as with IBM/Lexmark… Sad junky world we live in.

Awesome video. If I could just get one that was both heavy AND modified to be ergonomic, now…

Too bad they have that crap tiny return key, and the function keys are in the wrong place. I wish someone would make something with a similar layout as the northgate 102.. My current 102 is getting old.

End the corporatist concept of intellectual property rights, and a better keyboard will be made.
